Miami, Florida
This is a truly marvelous restaurant located on a super yacht marina in Miami, Florida. Dining is al fresco and, added to the fabulous cuisine, is the pleasure of seeing all the lights from whatever super yachts are docked nearby. Our first time there was on Valentine’s Day, and though we knew it was going to be good, as we had read reviews, we had no idea it would be as spectacular as it was! They had entertainment with gorgeous women, scantily clad, with beautiful bodies dancing to what I believe was
acoustic violin music. One of the dancers was draped in a diaphanous red outfit and she danced on stilts! When the dancers were through, there was the solo violinist, whose charming music could readily be heard from every edge of the deck.
The seating is very comfortable, as if you were in an outside living room. There is a rather long bar. The other patrons helped to create a people-watching experience, as they were dressed to impress, from one extreme to the other! The service was perfectly fine and courteous. If you arrive early enough, you can see a magnificent sunset; we rushed there to see it while sipping our cocktails.
Valentine’s Day was a prix fix menu with complimentary Prosecco. Jon and I both had salads, which were very good. Jon had Branzino a la Plancha (green olive and white bean salad, lemon aïoli) for his entrée and said it was the best he ever had. Afterwards, he kept ordering branzino in other places, but those dishes paled in comparison. Overall, the food is fabulous. Everything is class A.
We enjoyed ourselves so much that we returned two nights later for an encore dinner, even though we were only in Miami Beach for 10 days. It is ½
hour taxi ride to the port of Miami proper but well worth the effort! That second time, I had Wood Oven Roasted Prawns (with garlic espelette vinaigrette and charred lemon) and arugula and endive salad (heirloom cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, Greek figs, walnuts, Parmigiano Reggiano).
This was one of the tastiest food we had during our time there, and we went nightly to highly recommended places! The Deck is the best!
So, when in Miami or Miami Beach, don’t miss this experience; it is a superb place to dine in every way!
